Quantum computing · teaching · mentoring · an exhibit

At Vanderbilt I co-led The Wond'ry Quantum Studio (2022-2023), a student-led program that made quantum computing approachable for students with no quantum mechanics background. We wrote an open-access curriculum that starts from scratch and builds up to quantum algorithms, error correction and quantum machine learning, and in Fall 2023 I taught it as Quantum Computing for Everyone. I presented the program at IEEE Quantum Computing and Engineering (QCE 2023). There is more on the Quantum Studio page.

In 2025 I mentored applicants through Project SHORT, which offers free admissions mentoring to applicants from underrepresented backgrounds applying to graduate and medical programs. My longer-running mentoring is with Bangladesh's astronomy olympiad, described on the Astronomy Olympiad page.

Through the Buchanan Library Fellowship at Vanderbilt, I worked with advertisements preserved in the Vanderbilt Television News Archive, which holds decades of nightly news broadcasts and the ads that ran between them. My section of the library's digital exhibit, Pixels and Persuasion: The Transformation of Tech Company Advertising, follows how IBM, Apple and LG changed the way they sold technology to American viewers on television.
