Quantum computing is one of those fields where the gap between the people who understand it and the people who could benefit from understanding it is enormous - and growing. Most educational resources either assume a physics Ph.D. or wave their hands so hard they teach nothing. I wanted to build something in between.
At Vanderbilt, I was one of the founding members of The Wond'ry Quantum Studio, a student-led initiative to make quantum computing genuinely accessible. We built a nationwide network of students and researchers dedicated to advancing quantum literacy - not as a buzzword, but as a real, learnable skill.
I co-developed an open-access curriculum that starts from scratch - no quantum mechanics prerequisites - and builds up to quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, and quantum machine learning. The key insight was that most people don't struggle with the math; they struggle with the intuition. So we designed workshops around visual, interactive demonstrations that let students build mental models before they see equations.
The Quantum Studio grew into something I'm genuinely proud of: a space where an English major could sit next to a physics graduate student and both walk away understanding what a qubit actually is, why entanglement matters, and how to write a simple quantum circuit.
